About The Starfish Project
The Starfish Project is a blog I started when my Mom was diagnosed with non-small cell lung cancer. I wanted to have a place where all the information I was researching on the internet could be stored in one convenient location for her.
In addition, I wanted to make sure that all the information was positive, so having our own blog made that easy.
Why the strange name? Well, when I was thinking of a name for the blog, the idea of how a starfish regenerates parts of its body came to my mind. Did you know that a starfish can regenerate its entire body as long as there is one leg and 1/5 of its center remaining? Isn’t that cool. Thus, the Starfish Project got its name. Mom is our starfish and ridding her body of cancer is our project.
I believe that my Mom is going to recover and have a great story to tell as a cancer survivor. I also believe she will go on to help many others who will be facing the same experience.
This is for you, Mom. I love you.
